How to Choose the Best Color Scheme in a Design

COLOR is an important element in the formation of a design. It’s the most important element after typography. Therefore, you must ask your client the dominant colors he/she requested. That way, you already have an idea as to what the client is expecting

In accordance with the title above, we will discuss about the selection of best color scheme, especially when creating a design. As a graphic designer, the use of color is the most useful method in creating the characteristics of a design based on the selection of the chosen color.

Well, to choose the suitable color scheme, you must first, know the meaning of a color and how to use it into a design. Below, we will show you, what a color means, and how to apply it on a design.

1)    Red
Meaning: Strong, brave, confident, passionate
This color can be used in a design if the client wants to show his strength side. Contrasting red color will indicate the dominant feeling. Even so, usually red, combined with neutral colors which is not so strong, like black and white. This combination produces a robust design as well as elegant impression.

2)    Pink (Pink)
Meaning: Love, affection, tenderness, feminine
This color is nothing but for those feminine. Most of beauty products usually associated with women will chose this color. It is undeniable, though this time a woman won’t pick the pink color, but she’ll keep the focus on the "soft" color. For ex. light blue, light green, light purple, and all the soft colors. Well, if the client is a woman, or like soft and feminine color like this, then use this color as the dominant one, on your design.

3)    Colour Orange
Meaning: Have a red color character but more feminine and friendly.
We can call orange color as an universal color. This color can be applied into men and women. People who choose this color, usually gregarious, generalist type, creative and open minded. It's still a few people who use the color orange in making a business card design. But, if you want a business card naturally, applicable for men or women, then, orange is the best color to begin with.


4)    Yellow color
Meaning: Young, happy, imagination
In terms of color, yellow has a sense of fun, imaginary, and fresh! This color will be very beautiful when combined with neutral colors. If this yellow color stands alone, the impression arises too much contrast. For example, when we are listening to a beautiful and romantic music, but the volume is too loud, we just get the impression of a hard-rock music after hearing that.
Even so, yellow is suitable for a design, which seeking an attention. Bright yellow, bright green, etc all of them will the best color for a banner or a reklame. So for clients who chose yellow as their base color, you can bet the client want to seek an attention.

5)    Green
Meaning: Coolness, luck, and health.
People who choose the green color certainly love nature. But mostly, they are a middle person. Not so passionate, but not lazy either. Therefore, it is lucky for those who have clients who like the color green. The green color can be combined with neutral colors, and the results will be exciting with this green color only.

A Shiny and Sparkling Birthday Balloons Vector

Birthday Party, Ceremony, Elementary Graduation, etc, most of party events like them will use a shiny and sparkling helium balloons. To upgrade the decoration, make the room looks colorful, all of these are the main use of balloons. But, as a graphic designer, balloons means a needed design for greeting cards, birthday cards, birthday invitation, party background, etc. All of these special item will need balloons vector on it. It'll more beautiful and children will love it.

As for today, we've been able to make some vector design of this balloons. There are various balloons design, like the transparent balloons, conventional balloons, etc. But, we choose the shiny balloon design, cause we prefer it. It looks more sparkling like a star, and shiny like the sun. We also create this balloon vector in various color. Red, Blue, Magenta, Purple, and any other color. As for the shiny effects, we just use a white shape with transparency tool on CorelDraw. Adding more shiny shape in top right and bottom left of the balloon, we'll make it shiny. With 2 regular ellipse and transparent mode, we make it shiny. For more attractive balloon, we decided to make it more sparkling. Yes, adding 2 regular star shape at the end of the shiny sickle-shaped one. With all of these, yeah we've done.

To edit the color of the balloon, just UnGroup this balloon, then change the main color of the balloon. You don't need to change the shiny and sparkling effect shape color. Use different color as you want it to be, or you can make many balloons as you want. Group them in a single rope like this one.

Well, the most difficult thing for a graphic designer is to explain his design selling point, unique thing, or anything positive of it. Designing is not super hard, but it isn’t easy either. 1. Learn
First of all, everything begins with the idea of learning design and a deep understanding of the fundamentals of design you want to create. Here, you can start to bring out every small pieces of your thinking and idea you previously obtained. You can start to turn it into a proper graphic design. This process involves the ability to analyze designs that might be interesting. Eliminate them one by one, until your idea became a best creative design ever.

6. Execution
Of course, the creative process is not finished until we come here. This is the crucial stage to determine the final outcome of all phases you have passed. Another common mistakes in the world of graphic design is that everyone thing that the creative process ends with a brilliant sparkling design. In fact, without proper execution and implementation, event with a GENIUS idea, it will fail! Your hard work will be nothing. And your design won't sold. Therefore, the execution phase must be executed carefully and exactly.

This phase involves the process of turning a sketch into a digital format, add color and effects, and test the final results when it applied to multiple media. After finishing every single execution, and finishing your design, don’t jump into conclusion. Take a deep look and examine your design.
