1) Red
Meaning: Strong, brave, confident, passionate
This color can be used in a design if the client wants to show his strength side. Contrasting red color will indicate the dominant feeling. Even so, usually red, combined with neutral colors which is not so strong, like black and white. This combination produces a robust design as well as elegant impression.
2) Pink (Pink)
Meaning: Love, affection, tenderness, feminine
This color is nothing but for those feminine. Most of beauty products usually associated with women will chose this color. It is undeniable, though this time a woman won’t pick the pink color, but she’ll keep the focus on the "soft" color. For ex. light blue, light green, light purple, and all the soft colors. Well, if the client is a woman, or like soft and feminine color like this, then use this color as the dominant one, on your design.
3) Colour Orange
Meaning: Have a red color character but more feminine and friendly.
We can call orange color as an universal color. This color can be applied into men and women. People who choose this color, usually gregarious, generalist type, creative and open minded. It's still a few people who use the color orange in making a business card design. But, if you want a business card naturally, applicable for men or women, then, orange is the best color to begin with.
4) Yellow color
Meaning: Young, happy, imagination
In terms of color, yellow has a sense of fun, imaginary, and fresh! This color will be very beautiful when combined with neutral colors. If this yellow color stands alone, the impression arises too much contrast. For example, when we are listening to a beautiful and romantic music, but the volume is too loud, we just get the impression of a hard-rock music after hearing that.
Even so, yellow is suitable for a design, which seeking an attention. Bright yellow, bright green, etc all of them will the best color for a banner or a reklame. So for clients who chose yellow as their base color, you can bet the client want to seek an attention.
5) Green
Meaning: Coolness, luck, and health.
People who choose the green color certainly love nature. But mostly, they are a middle person. Not so passionate, but not lazy either. Therefore, it is lucky for those who have clients who like the color green. The green color can be combined with neutral colors, and the results will be exciting with this green color only.
Well, that's all tips and tricks, to choose the best color of your design. It’s easier, when you can ask your clients, to determine the dominant color. The hard part is when you have to combine that dominant color, with other color to reach the client’s expectation. So, to make your work easier, ask him/her about the purpose of the design, and the his/her personality.
